In 1984 Shayna first became interested in court reporting. She was working in Orlando for the Orlando College business office. Her parents offered to buy her an old secretarial machine if she was interested in attending college. Shayna learned theory in Orlando and later transferred to Bliss College in Columbus to complete her Associate's degree. She has been reporting for 20 years and obtained her RPR status in 1990.
Shayna began her court reporting career in Columbus, but moved to Memphis, TN, as a beginner reporter and lived there for eight years. She was a freelance reporter, also covering numerous court cases and jury trials. Shayna moved back home to Ohio and began reporting for ARS in July of 1996. Anderson Reporting is where Shayna first started realtime writing.

“I loved CR from the first theory class and felt like it was a natural fit for me. CR has been a rewarding and interesting career for me, and I enjoy learning/researching terms with every job, and meeting new people all the time. I particularly enjoy reporting medical malpractice cases and expert witness depositions.”
Shayna and her husband have two Labs (Maggie & Katie) and two Beagles (Pete and Roscoe) who love to play outside and help with the gardening and outdoor chores. Shayna is involved in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. Her and her husband are matched with 12-year-old twin boys who keep them young by roller skating, camping, boating, outdoor sports and games. Shayna also enjoys reading, gardening and travel.
